At OBEO Résidences, we take great pride in offering quality dining, a world away from the clichés of collective catering. Meet our Chef, Alain Galefre, and step into the flavourful daily life of our residents in Uzès.
Eating well is essential to staying in good shape and sharing convivial moments. In our senior services residence, every meal is designed to combine pleasure, balance and indulgence. But what does a typical day really look like on our residents’ plates? Here is a glimpse behind the scenes of our kitchen.
Morning: A gentle start with room service
From 8 a.m., breakfast is delivered straight to the apartment for a quiet, unhurried moment. On the menu: fresh pastries (a mini croissant or pain au chocolat), bread with butter and jam, a hot drink (coffee or tea), milk and a fruit juice. Everything you need to start the day right, at your own pace.
Midday: The main meal, a real moment of sharing
From 12 p.m. to 1.15 p.m., residents gather in the dining room to enjoy a full, homemade meal. Chef Alain Galefre and his team create varied, seasonal menus.
Sample menu: Warm goat’s cheese salad to start, followed by duck breast in a green peppercorn sauce with sautéed potatoes, and to finish, a smooth chocolate mousse.
A little extra: A glass of wine or a Kir is offered at the weekend, to celebrate the end of the week in style!
Afternoon tea: The sweet break
From 4 p.m., it’s time for a treat! In a relaxed atmosphere, residents are offered homemade pastries. Chocolate éclairs, warm crêpes, soft sponge cakes… plenty to delight the sweetest of tooths.
Evening: A light and comforting dinner
Finally, from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m., it’s time for a lighter but equally tasty dinner. A comforting soup is served every evening.
Sample dish: A cassolette of mussels in cider served with Creole rice. The meal ends with a simple, wholesome dessert, such as a yoghurt or a seasonal fruit.
Behind every plate is a passionate team working every day for the well-being and enjoyment of our residents. Because ageing well also means continuing to eat well.
