OBEO Résidences Yzeure: Folk Dancing with the Club de l’Amitié de Neuilly-le-Réal
OBEO Ré*sidences Yzeure – Les Jardins du Danube * – Our residents had the pleasure of enjoying an enchanting performance by the troupe from the Club de l’Amitié de Neuilly-le-Réal. A dozen devoted dancers brought the traditional dances of our French regions back to life, sweeping the audience away in a whirl of colour, rhythm and good cheer.
A danced journey across France
Dressed in traditional costume, the dancers gave a spirited rendition of some of the most emblematic pieces of French folk heritage:
La Bourrée (Auvergne), with its brisk steps and lively footwork,
La Farandole (Provence), rousing and joyful,
Le Fandango (Basque Country), with its fiery accents.
The catchy melodies soon had hands clapping and shoulders swaying, while some residents, feeling nostalgic, hummed along to the tunes of their youth.
A Moment of Sharing Between Generations
“It is a real joy to see the dances that filled our childhood”, said one resident. The performers from the Club de l’Amitié, all volunteers, also invited residents to join them for a few simple steps, creating a lovely bond between the generations.
